Carpet Being Installed

Wiring up the equipment! I ran upwards of 500ft of speaker wire in this room and counted 26 separate speaker wires.

This is a drawing of the screen masking system my wife and I built.
The Top mask is hung by a 1"x10' metal pipe with a 1/4"x2"x10' wood board fed through the bottom of the mask for weight. I spin the dowel to roll up the mask or lower it.
Strings attached to weights over a pivot point and counter weights suspend the lower mask up. I simply lift up or down on the 10' long "Base Board Molding" that is fed through the seam on the mask to raise and lower it. Sometimes it takes a little fidgeting to get this one level. The bottom of the lower mask just hangs freely.
The side curtains are always set the same which is 9' apart and hides the pipe and boards on the masking system.
I start the movie and then PAUSE it once I see the aspect ratio then adjust the masks to fit the projected picture. Automated would be much nicer but alot more expensive and I'm not rich! You could add a couple motors and switches to this setup and make it automated if you wanted to go that route.
The masked screen size are:
